Worthing is home to numerous quirky landmarks that defy expectations. From the mesmerizing Edith Swan Neck sculpture on the beach to the peculiar Denton Lounge perched precariously on stilts over the sea, there is no shortage of unusual sights to feast your eyes on.

Have you ever tried an ice cream float made with locally brewed beer? Head over to the Microgroove Gelato Bar to experience this delightful concoction yourself. Fancy a unique twist on fish and chips? James recommends The Mackerel & Waffle Bar, where you can enjoy freshly caught fish paired with fluffy waffles.

Don't forget to pay a visit to Rooted Coffee House, an atmospheric café famous for its secret recipe pies. James himself claims that their steak and ale pie is a life-changing experience!

Escape the hustle and bustle of the town and discover the tranquil beauty of Cissbury Ring, an ancient hill fort surrounded by unspoiled nature. Embark on a hike up to the fort's summit and indulge in breathtaking panoramic views that stretch as far as the eye can see.

For the bird enthusiasts, James recommends a visit to Brooklands Pleasure Park, where a serene lake becomes a temporary sanctuary for various bird species during migration seasons. Grab a pair of binoculars and get ready to witness nature's magnificent spectacle up close.

Unveiling Worthing's Rich History

Worthing's history stretches back thousands of years, and James Henry is determined to bring it to life. Embark on a historic journey as he introduces us to the lesser-known stories of this coastal town.

Worthing. Once cursed with the moniker of being God’s Waiting Room because of its popularity with older folk retiring to the area. Worthing’s image as a typical seaside resort is well founded. This perhaps is not the best way to start an introductory guide to our home town written by two self confessed curmudgeon's but we tell the way we see it through our eyes.
