David Albert DeBusschere is a National Basketball Association professional player and coach and a major baseball player. He played for the Chicago White Sox of the MLB in 1962 and 1963 and in the NBA for the Detroit Pistons from 1962 to 1968 and for the New York Knicks from 1968 to 1974. He was also head coach of the Pistons from 1964 to 1967. In 1996, DeBusschere was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. DeBusschere was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Fame Hall in 1983 .
